Stress Patterns in Single Deck Floating Roofs Subjected to Ground Motion Accelerations

This paper investigates the induced stresses in circular single deck roofs floating on seismically excited storage tanks. Equations of motion are derived using variational principle. Response of deck floating roofs is evaluated for two different classes of ground motions; near-source and long-period far-field records. Besides time histories and frequency contents for a specific tank, peak value...

شبیه‌سازی تجربی ابعاد پیاز رطوبتی بافت‌های مختلف خاک

Accurate design of drip irrigation systems requires sufficient understanding of horizontally and vertically distribution of water flow in soil and modeling the wetting pattern dimensions created under the drip source. Field and laboratory activities are not suitable for this purpose considering their time and financial constraints and it is necessary to apply accurate software for determination...

Potentials and displacements for two theoretical seismic sources

Theoretical, P, S V, and SH displacement potentials and displacements for a double couple or point shear dislocation source and for a 'mixedquadrupole' source at any arbitrary orientation in an isotropic homogeneous elastic space are expressed as multiple integral and derivative operations on the source history in the time domain and their algebraic equivalent in the frequency domain. These sou...

An Efficient Transformation Technique for the Direct Recovering of the Antenna Far-Field Pattern from Near-Field Measurements Collected along a Helix

A near-field to far-field transformation technique with helicoidal scanning for elongated antennas, which allows the evaluation of the antenna far-field pattern in any cut plane directly from a nonredundant number of near-field data without interpolating them, is developed in this paper. It is based on the nonredundant sampling representations of electromagnetic fields and employs a flexible so...

A model for pattern formation of hypostome, tentacles, and foot in hydra: how to form structures close to each other, how to form them at a distance.

A model for head, tentacle, and foot formation in Hydra is proposed. The model shows that systems which suggest a positional information scheme may be realized by a set of hierarchically coupled pattern forming systems: a structure generates the precondition for a second structure but excludes this structure locally. In this way, a well-regulated neighborhood of structures is enforced. Accordin...
